The Reliable Toy Company, Toronto started making the doll in 1948 to honor the beautiful young skater who won the gold medal at the Olympics in Saint Moritz, Switzerland that year. The doll had a different skating costume trimmed with maribou feathers each year it was made (1948 - 1954).
This Barbara Ann Scott doll has the original red costume from 1950. It is 15" tall.
Every serious doll collector should have at least one.
